James Knight has been involved in the field of Healing Arts for over twenty years and maintains a private practice out of his new wellness center: The Carlsbad Center for Awareness in southern California. His background includes being the founder of The Awareness Research and Training Institute in San Francisco and a graduate of several advanced studies in the arena of mind and body therapies.

James received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Planning with a minor in Psychology from Sonoma State University. While working on his Master's degree in Eco-Psychology, James also taught as a faculty member at Sonoma State. His classes included Psychology of Yoga, Psychology of Meditation, Eco-psychology, and Psychology of Wilderness.

He is certified as a Core Energetic psychotherapist, a Hanna Somatic Educator, biofeedback practitioner, massage therapist, Watsu therapist and yoga/meditation instructor.

Over the years, James has been exposed to a broad array of healing modalities. He is dedicated to continuously educate himself and bring you the most progressive modalities in the field of Mind/Body/Spirit. He is dedicated to helping people find their joy and passion for life by realigning themselves with their true nature.

As well as a therapist he is also an artist and designer. While taking a sabbatical from his practice he was trained with skills to design sacred spaces through architecture, interiors and landscapes. He currently studies sacred geometry and works with select projects.

One of James' current venues for artistic expression is through his photography. He has a reverence for nature and has found that beauty not only inspires but it heals!

James' ongoing intention is to live in devotion to the Divine and continue to move into truer expressions of authenticity, integrity and mutuality. Through this process, he finds the most joy when he can share what he has experienced with others.
